Windows 7 post RTM build 7700 spotted

Screenshots of a Windows 7 post RTM build have shown up on the web this week fueling speculation that Microsoft is compiling early Windows 8 builds.

Russian site, Wzor, leaked a series of screenshots from build 7700.winmain.100122-1900. Although nothing appears to have changed visually, the jump from 7600 (Windows 7 RTM build) to 7700 may suggest some kind of early milestone towards the Windows 8 alpha and beta stage. Microsoft has slowly been compiling post RTM builds of Windows 7 since its July RTM in 2009.

Wzor also published a list of builds that have been compiled after the final Windows 7 RTM. Judging by the list, the software giant has been hard at work compiling builds throughout September 2009 to January 2010:

It does not appear that these builds are service pack builds for Windows 7 SP1 as Wzor has confirmed those began from 7601.winmain_sp. Last week an ex-Microsoft worker penned July 2011 as the RTM date for Windows 8.

This is good, newer builds with no obvious UI change means they could be working on the more in-depth Windows problems, like the registry, OS compartmentalization, and the infamous 'DLL-Hell'

The fact that there is NO x86 to me really indicates nothing .... The fact to Microsoft does not publish Windows 7 on USB drives to me is much more.xxxxx.who uses DVD crap today....

DUH - wth is wrong ... how else can you install Windows 7 on a netbook.??  What take the CRAP the manufactures sell "Starter Version"  to me that is STUPID,  and equally STUPID on the smallish HDDs.  3 to 4 USB ports, and AHHHH yes, the Pirates version of Windows 7 AIO on a 4GB USB Flash plus the Netbooks will not support x64.  and then a reasonable tech with any smarts can - does install 120 GB or 160 GB or 250 GB HDD, and furnishes a USB to allow clean install if you have major problem. Now the rumors of MS only producing Windows 8 in x64 version and only on DVD's is a money loosing ideas.... Not my cup of tea ...
