Windows 7 64 bit only able to use 2.75GB of RAM?!
« on: March 10, 2009, 04:26:17 PM »
Hi there,

So, today, I installed 4 GB of RAM into my system. I am running 64 bit Windows 7 on my PC currently. The BIOS and PC recognise that I have 4GB installed, but it says I can only use 2.75GB?! What gives. This is only meant to happen with 32 Windows!!

I need help please!!

hi there too..

do you upgrade from vista? try running msconfig on startmenu then click on the boot tab then on advance options then untick (if check) the maximum memory...it must be set to 2.75gb back before...

Hey,

Been meaning to reply to this for a bit. Yeah, I found that also. Very strange. But it works like that. Should all be sorted now.
